Development

First of all, new developers are welcome to participate. :-)

Get the source

You can access the FreeWRT source code using Subversion.

How to contribute

The project is Free Software, covered by the GNU General Public License, as found on the license page. Some parts are covered by BSD-style licences instead. The binary images are composed from FreeWRT components and third-party software, some of which is licenced under different terms (e.g. OpenSSL and some of the WLAN drivers).

Report Bugs

You might find that something does not work as it should. If so, please file a bug report using our bug report system or the developer or user mailing list.

If not using the latest version, chances are that the bug has been found and fixed in the meantime. We would appreciate if you could take the time to upgrade to the latest version and verify your bug, but this is not required for reporting.

It is required, that you at least report the subversion revision you have used to compile the firmware image, the specific device you build for and a detailed description of the problem you have with the image or your device.

Mailing lists

If something goes wrong, or if you have a question, a suggestion, or are simply interested in FreeWRT development, you can join the FreeWRT mailing lists.

An overview gives our Mailman Webinterface.
