Supported host systems
Here is a list of all supported and tested host systems. The host system is needed to create a firmware from scratch for your embedded linux system.
The list of supported GNU/Linux build systems is not an exclusive one, theese are just the ones tested and verified. The other millions of linux distributions are very likely to work as well; if yours works, drop us a note.
GNU/Linux operating systems
- Debian GNU/Linux 3.1/4.0 (i386)
- Gentoo GNU/Linux (i386)
- Ubuntu GNU/Linux 6.06/6.10/7.04 (i386)
- Fedora Core 4 (i386)
- OpenSuse 10.2 (i386)
UNIX® and related operating systems
- MirOS BSD (i386) -- partial support, full build of all packages is not guaranteed
- OpenBSD 3.9/4.0/4.1 (i386, amd64) -- partial support, full build of all packages is not guaranteed
- Mac OSX / Darwin -- partial support; install wget, use scripts/darwindiskimage for case-sensitive filesystem

Other requirements
For a “standard build” (svn checkout, make menuconfig, no changes, default ASUS WL-500g with squashfs), you need approximately 1.1 to 1.2 GiB of space on your hard disc drive.
